Season 3, Episode 15: Field Trips with Phones; Sew It Again: Up-Cycling Chairs and Pillows; and Beading 101

If you believe variety is the spice of life, then you’ve come to the right place! On this episode of The Happi House, we’ve got a little nature and technology time with kids, a fabric upcycling project, and a lesson for beading beginners. First off, our host Happi Olson is back at Tonkadale Greenhouse. This time she is with Sonal Gerten, founder of Tumblewalla, who also happens to be a “Play Expert.” Sonal is showing Happi and some young friends, how our mobile devices can be used in a positive way to help kids learn about nature. Next, Happi is over at the home of designer and stylist, Christopher Straub, where they are making some fun throw pillows with flannel shirts and sweaters that Happi picked up at her local thrift shop. And finally, it’s Beading 101 with Alexis Thompson, master crafter and radio co-host of “Jason & Alexis” on myTalk 107.1 in the Twin Cities. Alexis is teaching Happi about how to get started with the ever-popular activity of beading. Want to know what kinds of materials YOU need to get started? Join us on The Happi House.
